We are pleased to announce the 14th Women’s World Ranking Competition in Spiez that will take place May 7th – 9th 2010 and kindly invite a team of your country to this nice competition in the marvelous heart of Switzerland
Organizer:  Pentathlon Suisse / Modern Pentathlon Switzerland
Invitation: 4 female athletes (senior/junior) and 1 coach per nation. 36 athletes, by order of inscription, can be accepted for the competition.
Invited nations: All nations via UIPM distribution list
Time table:
May 7th until 19:00 Arrival of delegations
May 7th 20:00  Technical meeting
May 8th 09:30  Fencing
May 8th Afternoon Swimming
May 9th Morning Riding
May 9th Morning Running / Shooting
May 9th 14:00 Prize giving Ceremony, Departure of delegations

Rules: The competition will be carried out according to UIPM rules
Competition format: two days; no qualification
Training facilities: not guaranteed
Fencing: 8 pistes
Swimming: pool size: 25 m, indoor, 4 lanes
Riding course: outdoor arena
Running / Shooting: combined event, 18 targets, two rounds (first half and second half of athletes after 3 events); tarmac and grass surface.

Equipment: Equipment control for fencing will be May 7th at 19:00-20:00 in the AC-Zentrum (accommodation site). Riding head gear will be controlled at the drawing of horses May 9th. Shooting gear will be controlled immediately before the competition at the shooting range.  

Transportation: Delegations can be picked up at the Railway station Spiez or the Airport Bern/Belp. We cannot provide any transportation to and from Zürich Airport. There are direct trains from Zürich Airport to Spiez (see also our web site). Please indicate arrival time in Spiez or Bern.

Licenses: Athletes are only allowed to participate in UIPM sanctioned events if they are in possession of a valid UIPM issued athletes license. Entry Forms will not be accepted if any athlete is missing his/her license Number. Please contact immediately UIPM Headquarters if your athlete is missing his/her license. Athletes must bring their license with them to the competition to be entered. If an athlete forgets her license, a fine of 50 Euro will be charged. Pentathletes without riding ability listed on their license card and without a letter from their NF confirming their ability to ride may compete without riding.

Insurance: All members of the attending delegations must insure themselves in case of accidental injury or illness. The organiser will not accept any responsibility financial or otherwise for loss, injury or illness of any delegation member. All members of the attending delegations must insure themselves by a sufficient health, accident and liability insurance. By submitting the entry the NF confirms that all persons named on the entry are covered by such an insurance.  

Financial terms: According to the UIPM rules, NF will have to pay an accreditation fee of 90 Euro per person (coaches and athletes). This fee will cover all costs for transportation, accommodation and meals of the official delegates from arrival, Friday May 7th dinner, until departure, Sunday May 9th after lunch. Any additional person (over the limit of 4 athletes and 1 coach) will have to cover their expenses personally (as far as possible we will support finding accommodation).
Delegations wishing to arrive prior to Friday May 7th are kindly requested to contact our office and indicate their intention on the "Entry Form C". The extra costs are at their own expenses.  

Enrollment: Entry Forms at the end of this invitation must be completed and submitted to the organizers (attachment)
